Paint Detailing & Decontamination
The science of paint assessment, mechanical claying, and dual-action rotary light swirl clarification.
Paint correction is a subtractive, highly measured process
Every time paint is polished, a tiny microscopic layer of the outer clearcoat (lacquer) is removed. Our detailing framework focuses on safety and longevity. We always advocate for the least aggressive approach necessary to clarify reflections and clean the paint.
Before any machine touches the paint, it undergoes heavy chemical and mechanical decontamination to strip away road tar, metallic fallout from brakes, and sap. Polishing on top of these bonded pollutants would result in scratching the bodywork deeper.
The Krypshowharbr Detailing Flow
We detail our multi-phase preparation and paint enhancement process below.
Physical Inspection
Using strong high-temperature LED inspection lights, we assess the paint panels for swirl marks, orange peel, deep scratches, and chemical etchings.
Tar & Metal Wash
Applying iron fallout spray (which turns purple as it dissolves ferrous brake particles) and solvent cleaners to lift tar chunks safely.
Clay Treatment
A detailing clay bar is manually swept across the wet, lubricated panel. It shears away embedded particles, leaving paint smooth to the touch.
Measured Machine Polish
Using dual-action random orbital polishers paired with microfiber or foam pads. The motion avoids build-up of excessive heat, safely removing micro-swirls.
Paint Shield Prep
The panel is wiped down with isopropyl alcohol solutions to remove residual oils, leaving bare paint perfectly prepped for ceramic or polymer sealant application.
Core Truths of Detailing Outcomes
We do not promise "flawless showroom paint correction." It is crucial to understand what is practically possible.
Deep Stone Chips & Key Scratches
If a scratch has cut down through the clearcoat and reached the base colour coat or steel panel, polishing will not cure it. It require paint filling or full panel respray.
Lacquer Peel / Clearcoat Failure
When paint lacquer peels back (often looking like flaky skin due to UV sun damage), the clearcoat has structurally failed. No amount of polishing can fix this; it must be repainted.
Permanent Swirl Correction
No paint correction is permanent. If you wash your car with bad techniques in the future, you will quickly reinstall swirl marks over the detailed paintwork.
